Victoria’s Secret just launched their Love My Body campaign, and the use of models with flawless bodies sends mixed messages about beauty and body acceptance—especially when compared with the Real Beauty campaign from Dove.

Which one makes you love your body?

This is pretty disturbing and so are the Photoshop legs of the Victoria Secret models.

I find the use of emotion in each piece to be interesting. Personally, I’d rather be happy and laughing than be “fierce”

Good point about the emotions. I keep coming back to the difference in poses. The Dove models look relaxed and natural, while the VS models look like very posed and stiff. Also, I can’t tell for sure, but I wonder if the VS models were photographed individually and then photoshopped into a group. They don’t give off a comfortable-in-my-skin group vibe, that’s for sure.

I was just going to comment on the legs of the VS models, too! HOLY AIRBRUSHED. The second image is such a cute photo, it makes me feel good just looking at it :)

Wait, your calves aren’t as thin as your arms? ;) The Dove photo makes me happy too, full of good vibes compared to the VS photo.
